Feedback from the questionnaire

The Board would like to thank everybody that provided feedback to the questionnaire that was given to all homeowners.  Any and all input, whether it is positive or constructive, is great to hear.  We are here to serve the community and it is important that we know what the community wants.  Below is a chart outlining the feedback that we received and the Board’s response in addressing the concerns/feedback.

What changes do you want to see? Quarterly newsletter This is in the works and we are hoping that the Social Committee will take on this task.
More participation with clean-ups and other events. The Board advertises the cleanups on the website and on flyers that are posted on doors/mailboxes.  We too would like more participation and do our best to get the word out.  The Board encourages anybody to help with any of the community events.
Enforcement of the CC&R’s. The Board/ACC has enforced, or is in the process of enforcing the CC&R’s.  One effort to assist the Board in enforcing the CC&R’s is the Schedule of Fines, which we will be working to improve upon this year.  The Board feels that there are other solutions and ways to handle violations than filing lawsuits against their neighbors and would like to use this option as the very last resort.
Speeding. The Board will look into addressing speeding along our roads.  The Board cannot place “Children Playing” signs on the roads as it is prohibited by the County.
More interest in the community becoming Board members. The Board encourages all community members to participate, both on the Board as well as on subcommittees.  All homeowners with this concern are encouraged to apply to participate.
Clean remaining sewers. The Board is working on this task.  We need to obtain the as-built from the County before completing the cleaning on the remaining cisterns.
What action would you like the Board to take? Know status on gravel driveways and other violations. All violations are handled between the ACC/Board and the homeowner.  The Board/ACC handles these violations as confidential so as not to impede on the violating homeowners rights.  Each homeowner agrees to a timeline to correct a specific violation and these timelines vary depending on the violation and the specific homeowner’s situation.  The Board/ACC has handled or is in the process of handling all known violations at this time.
Need active Safety and Security committee. The Board is working to get this committee active again this year to help address some of the issues our community has faced over the past year. All homeowners with this concern are encouraged to apply to participate.
Gated community. The Board previously looked into the possibility of becoming a gated community and it is not possible because the roads are County right-of-ways.
Additional street lights. The Board has looked into installing additional street lights but it is not financially feasible as it would cost tens of thousands of dollars.  An alternative of solar lighting was considered however there is no working examples that will illuminate with dependability.
“No outlet” signs. The Board will look into checking with the County on the feasibility of placing these signs.
Continue with capital investment plan. The Board will be completing a reserve study this year.
Provide yearly financial statement to each homeowner. The Board will look into mailing the financial statement to homeowners with the announcement of the annual meeting.  Anyone wishing to receive a copy this year, please ask a board member, or a neighbor that attended the annual meeting.
What have you liked/disliked about the Board? ACC being shut-down on a rebid for landscape maintenance. This is not the case.  The Board/ACC worked together to get different bids for landscaping, and the lowest bid was contracted with.
List of houses in foreclosure. The Board does not maintain a list of houses in foreclosure.  The banks will contact the Board for information about homeowner’s dues and other issues, which are then addressed at Board meetings.  The Board has not passed around a list of houses in foreclosure.
Set weekend for garage sale and more advertising. The Board is considering this option for this year’s garage sale and for future garage sales.  Please do not hesitate to assist the Board and Social Committee in getting out advertisement for the garage sale.
Purchase of post-its. The Board decided to spend a minimal amount of money to assist with advertising the website as there are still a lot of homeowners that do not know about the website.   The cost of the notepads were only slightly more than mailing the announcement and a board member volunteered  to walk the note pads door to door. The website is a great tool for providing homeowners with information such as our meeting minutes and Association documents.  The usage of the website could lessen mailing costs in the future.
Easter party. The Board and Social Committee feel that the Egg hunt is a great way for neighbors to come together and socialize, and exchange information.  If you do not wish to participate due to personal or religious reasons, that is your choice.
Communication between Board, subcommittees and community. One of the goals for 2010 was to improve communication not only between subcommittees, but also between the community.  The Board has succeeded in doing so by holding meetings with the subcommittees, which will continue in the future, as well as keeping the subcommittees abreast of issues that affect them.  The website was set up to improve communication among everybody so that the community could access meeting minutes, etc.  Information about the future annexation is already on the website and has been for quite some time.  The Board does not have much information about Rose Park other than it is now owned by Housing Hope.
Liked website, landscaping, legal overview of the CC&R’s and involvement in public meetings, flyers on mailboxes. It is good to receive positive as well as constructive feedback.Thank you.
