Roosevelt Ridge Homeowners Association

As many of you may already know, the City of Monroe intends to annex the Roosevelt Ridge area.  This includes our community.  All registered voters living within the annexation area will be voting as to whether or not this area should be annexed into the City of Monroe in the November 2012 election.  The Board strongly encourages all registered voters in our community to vote against the annexation.  With annexation will come the potential of being forced to connect to City sewer should your septic fail,  potentially higher property taxes, higher density as the areas around our community are developed according to the City’s zoning, and the possibility that school zones will change.  The police and fire response will stay the same as the same agencies will respond accordingly as they currently do.  Many of us intentionally moved out of city limits to enjoy the benefits that Snohomish County offers.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Board members should you have any questions or concerns about the annexation process.  And please, remember to vote in November!

The Monroe City Council will hold a public hearing regarding the pre-annexation zoning for the proposed Roosevelt Ridge Annexation.  This area is approximately 183 acres, and includes the Roosevelt Ridge Estates neighborhood along with a few larger parcels bordering the neighborhood.  This annexation is subject to voter approval in the November 2012 election.  Those registered voters living within the proposed annexation area will be eligible to vote in the annexation.

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, at 7:00 pm in the Monroe Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 806 W Main St, Monroe.

The pre-annexation zoning will designate the Roosevelt Ridge Annexation area for single family UR6000 and UR9600-Urban Residential.

Any interested person may appear and voice approval/disapproval of the proposed zoning at the public hearing.  Written comments must be received by mail or delivered to City Hall prior to the public hearing.  The zoning information is available on the City’s website at http://www.monroewa.gov/RooseveltRidge.
