This year’s annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 7:oo pm at the library in Monroe located at 1070 Village Way Monroe, WA 98272. You will be receiving an official notice letter, ballot/proxy for the election of new board members and a copy of the Association’s financial statement in the mail shortly. All are welcomed and encouraged to come to this meeting.

Sprinkler Backflow Testing
Jordan Ottow will be in our neighborhood again this year to conduct backflow tests on sprinklers. He is available to test your backflow assembly on Saturday, March 10th or Monday, March 19th. Please contact Jordan at Panther Backflow Testing, P: 425-231-6360, E: pantherbackflow@gmail.com to schedule your test. Jordan will be charging $35 for this test (discounted from $50).
Homeowners with underground sprinkler systems are required by Roosevelt Water Association to have their backflow assemblies tested by a certified backflow assembly tester by April 1st. Backflow assemblies are required on all underground sprinkler systems by the Washington State Department of Health, WAC 246-290-490. The annual testing requirement is enforced by Roosevelt Water Association to protect the public water system from contamination such as bacteria and/or fertilizers that enter through sprinkler heads, broken piping, etc. Although some assemblies last for years, at some point a backflow assembly will fail, and need repair. Proper maintenance and annual testing of backflow assemblies keeps a safe drinking water system.

Open Board Positions
The Association has three open board positions. This past year we have seen community participation dwindle. It is very important that we all remain active in the Association in order to ensure the longevity of the Association and the stability of our community. Each board member will serve a three year term. This is a very important commitment that will protect the future of our Association and community. We encourage anybody interested in serving on the board to submit a short paragraph about themselves and why they want to serve. This information will then be shared with the community so that homeowners can vote on the new members. If you would like to be a part of the board, please submit your paragraph to Sara Redfield at ktmchick@gmail.com no later than February 10, 2012.
